Thorncrown Chapel

This is possibly one of the best looking churches I have ever laid eyes on…….Located in the woods near Eureka Springs, Arkansas, USA, Thorncrown Chapel was commissioned by owner Jim Reed from Frank Lloyd Wright alumni, architect E. Fay Jones. The building was constructed using mostly native timber (under the steel roof) to match the setting around it and thus reducing transportation costs and blending perfectly with its environment.

This spectacular piece of architecture completed in 1980, which I daresay was way ahead of its time, was awarded the “Twenty-Five Year Award by the American Institute of Architects.
