We are extremely proud of this beauty by Investec Properties, presently being erected in Midrand, which once complete, will serve as a new distribution warehouse for Mass Build. Safintra Roofing supplied Metsec Purlins, Girts and canopy purlins as specified by DG Consulting Engineers in Pretoria.

The warehouse measures 38 000 square metres, excluding the canopy, which measures another 2000 square metres. The specification called for the use of Metsec  202 Z with an unsupported span is 7.994 mtr , utilising 2.0 mm thickness on the end bays and 1.6 mm throughout the rest of the building. In total approximately 190 tons of steel was supplied, broken down into 2900 purlins /girts and 2450 splice plates (sleeves )  , requiring some 55,000 holes being punched. Each length was hardstamped with its position identity.

Okirand Construction was awarded the fabrication and steelwork erection contract. Okirand Construction also completed the 35 000 square metre Toyota Parts Distribution Warehouse in Boksburg in 2011, using Metsec Z Profile.

Safintra Roofing SA, through its Augusta Profiles division is the sole licensee to Metsec PLC, UK to manufacture and sell the Metsec System in Southern Africa. This product range includes Zed and C Profiles for Purlins and Girts.
