Old House, Tyson Street by Jackson Clements Burrows

16 Aug

How utterly stunning is this project located in an inner city suburb of Melbourne Australia? The talented team of Jackson Clements Burrows succeeded in creating modern spectacular architecture in a strictly controlled Heritage zone. The Heritage zone favoured the retention of existing buildings despite the owner wishing for a complete demolishment of the dilapidated cottage. In a compromise the streetscape context of the home was preserved with the modern structure unfolding beyond. The home has 4 bedrooms, a rooftop deck and off-street parking for 2 vehicles. Inside is airy to to the clever positioning of windows.

We love the cladding, naturally! And also the clever use of polycarbonate sheeting!
