Studio House by Grade NYC

10 Sep

How beautifully dramatic is this residence by Grade Architecture in NYC for a mosaic artist? The home situated in rural Virginia offers breathtaking views of Chesapeake Bay and the surrounding wooded area. The home encompasses both a 2500 square feet private residence and studio. The brief for the studio was to allow for a creative space which didn’t seem isolated and closed off to its surroundings. We are loving the beautifully curved zinc roof and the rich wooden cladding. Stunning!

Zinc, zinc, zinc, everywhere you look there’s zinc! Don’t you just love zinc? I know I do. I was just outside putting the finishing touches on a couple of boxwood shrubs that I planted up in my new Restoration Hardware planters. Which by the way are on sale now Here ! It got me thinking about how wonderful the color is, that soft gray/blue.
